We cater for visitors in our home with 2 bedrooms provided for bed & breakfast. The following is a summary of our provision, if you have any specific questions call us and we will try to help.
There is a bus route past our front gate: there is usually an hourly service during the day to and from Dorchester.
The Dorchester East and West railway stations are 5 minutes away by car.

The road through the village is narrow and bendy, so take care.
There is a wide entrance gateway to the property: it is kept open.
There are six parking bays marked by large pots .
The gravel surface is level.
We can assist guests with luggage.
The property is in a village, a few minutes walk from the Church and public houses.
Slades Farm is in a Conservation Area. It was converted from a flint and stone barn in 1998 at a time when current
access standards were not required. It is not wheelchair-user friendly. Help with luggage is available.
The front door has two steps 14cm high. No other entrance is more accessible.
The front door is usually locked and guests are given a set of keys on arrival.
There is a door bell in the door frame 130cm above the top step.
There are no specific hours for reception, but guests are asked to advise as to their likely time of arrival.
At night lights illuminate the front step and parking area (PIR).
The door is 84cm wide.
On entry into our home there is hallway over 2 by 2 metres. It has a tiled floor and rug.
There is normally no seating in the hallway, but it can be provided.
The corridor to the breakfast room is 73cm wide at its narrowest.
The flooring of all corridors, stairs and rooms is light in colour. Other than in the tiled hallway, there are fitted short
pile carpets throughout. There is adequate low energy electric lighting throughout the property and a night light is used
to illuminate the hallway area when it is dark.
The breakfast room is on the ground floor.
There are 12 straight stairs to the first floor bedrooms. They are 18cm high, 26cm deep, 80cm wide. There is a banister on
one side only.
All walls, paintwork and flooring are light in colour. Downstairs doors are light oak and half glazed (where appropriate)
and upstairs light pine.
Bedrooms are en-suite. A standard WC is available off the downstairs corridor.
Breakfast is served in the lounge/diner on the ground floor. There are no steps.
Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request.
The dining table provides a space of 175cm by 110cm and height of 60cm (legs at each corner).
There are chairs without arms which can be moved as required.
Cereals, fruit, fruit juices, yoghurt, bread, toaster etc are provided on a help-yourself basis on a sideboard 95cm high. Guests are asked what they would like cooked when they arrive for breakfast and a menu is provided in each room.
On booking guests can indicate any special dietary requirements, and these will be met where possible.
We do not play background music.
There is a dimmable light immediately above the dining table.
A machine washing and drying service is available on request.
A village shop and PO is one mile away.

Guests are free to wander round the gardens and paddocks, but children must be supervised.
There are bench seats at various locations. A range of surface materials provide possible trip hazards.
A river runs along one boundary 100 metres from the house, behind a fence with two small gates.

The shower has an external on-off button: a light stops flashing when the set temperature is reached.
A formal garden and grass paddocks are open to guests. Benches are provided at various points.
A children's playground is within 200 metres but there is no pavement along the whole route.
Alpacas are kept in the property. They are friendly but timid: they must be treated with respect and guests must
be aware that they may kick if frightened.
The main gate to the paddocks is padlocked but
there is a small side gate from the gardens that may be used: it must always be left bolted shut.
Mobile phone reception is generally poor.
There are mains powered fire alarms. The fire procedures are provided in both rooms and they make provision for the
evacuation of all residents.
There is a fridge on the upstairs landing for the use of guests.
Slades Farm is fully centrally heated: guests can adjust the thermostats on their radiators as required.
An electric pedestal fans is in each room: they can be used as required.
